Hung Yen Climate
Hung Yen is a flat, purely agricultural delta province on the left bank of the Red River, with neither coast nor hills, giving it a humid subtropical monsoon climate typical of the central delta. Summer (May–September) is hot and humid with showers, thunderstorms and high moisture, while winter (November–February) is cold, dry and short on sunshine under the northeast monsoon. The annual mean is about 23–24°C, with summer peaks of 35–37°C, winter cold snaps down to 10–13°C and a muggy late-winter spell. July and August bring the prized longan harvest, right at the year's most humid stretch.
