Perth's Climate
Perth has a Mediterranean climate with very hot, dry, sunny summers and cool, wet winters. Summers (December–February) often reach 30–35°C and can top 40°C on hot easterly days, but afternoons are usually relieved by a cooling sea breeze known as the "Fremantle Doctor". Winters (June–August) are cool, 8–19°C, and bring almost all of the city's rainfall as cold fronts pass through. Perth is one of the sunniest major cities in Australia.
